A fictional company with a useful purpose.
Liberty Designs is the setting for a business-leadership story—not a trading company, contractor or service provider.
What is real here?
Liberty Designs, founder James, operations leader Luke, finance leader Nicole and the company’s depicted projects are fictional examples used to explore decision-making, financial visibility, accountability and leadership.
The book The Self-Sufficient Business and its author James Highgate are real. The Amazon links on this site point to the book’s purchase page. QuietSalesBook.com is a separate website about another book by the same author.
Illustrations and project concepts
The Anderson project is discussed in the book’s opening chapter. Other project descriptions and renderings on this website extend the fictional world for illustrative purposes; they are not representations of actual commissions, clients or completed installations.
Reader exercises and privacy
The quick assessment on the Free Management Assessment page is an optional educational exercise created for this website. It runs locally in your browser and does not transmit, save or collect responses. The management assessment stays in your browser. A separate author contact form transmits your name, reply address, subject, and message privately to the website server so James can respond. The website includes no mailing-list signup or advertising pixels.
